The 10 nominees for the 2016 CFDA/VOGUE FASHION FUND FINALIST SELECTED.

American fashion’s strongest support network for new designers, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund (CVFF), has announced the 10 finalist for the 2016 prize.
The fund winner will be announced on November 7th and will receive a monetary prize of $400,000 while two-runners up will take home $150,000 each. And while dollars go a long way, the winners also received the greatest prize of all, mentorship from industry luminaries which past winners receiving tillage from the likes of Howard Socol, Rose Marie Bravo, Millard “Mickey” Drexler, Mark Lee, Maureen Chiquet and Domenico de Sole.
Over the course of the next few weeks, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Selection Committee will meet with each finalist to review their current collections, conduct in-depth interviews and visit their design studios. The finalists will participate in a special design challenge underwritten by Intel. In October, the finalists will travel to Los Angeles where they will present several looks at a fashion show at the Chateau Marmot.
The fund, launched in 2003 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Vogue, has been a telltale sign of things to come. Since its inception, the program has granted $5.2 million to over 30 design companies, including notable winners Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Public School, Altuzarra, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rodarte, Thakoon, Thom Browne, Paul Andrew, and Derek Lam. Previous winners also include Brother Vellies, Gypsy Sport, Jonathan Simkhai, The Elder Statesman, Billy Reid, Sophie Theallet, Rogan, Eva Fehren, Ryan Roche, Marc Alary, Juan Carlos Obando, Jennifer Meyer, Tabitha Simmons, Pamela Love, Creatures of the Wind, Eddie Borgo, Prabal Gurung, Monique Péan, Patrik Ervell, Albertus Swanepoel, Vena Cava, Philip Crangi, and Alexandre Plokhov.
