adidas Originals by Alexander Wang Season 2 gets flipped on it’s head

Adidas Originals by Alexander Wang is the collaboration that we didn’t know we needed. The New York City-based designer could arguably gel with any sportswear company, but he and adidas click for many reasons, one in which is the company he has at adidas.

Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Stella McCartney, and Yohji Yamamoto are proof that adidas works with only top tier talent and gives them the freedom to reinterpret its DNA. When the first adidas Originals by Alexander Wang collection debuted on the runway in 2016, it made sense, and now their ongoing partnership has led to the launch of Drop 2 on October 7.

Wang continues to flip adidas Originals on its head for Season 2, hence the upside-down trefoil logo for the collaboration collection. This season, the designer merges the cycling and raving worlds, while exploring adidas’ DNA and classic sportswear.

Season 2 is comprised of 36 unisex pieces, including the AW Soccer Jersey that features the slogan “ALT DIMENSION” and the upside-down trefoil, jacquard tracksuits, mesh polos, tees and track tops, windbreakers, and updated iterations of the AW Run Mid, AW Skate Mid and AW Adilette sneakers.

To support the collection, adidas dropped a campaign that continues the story of the masked cyclists in Drop 1. Shot by Juergen Teller and creative directed by Ferdinando Verderi, the Season 2 campaign lifts the veil on an adrenaline-fueled community where cool kids don acid-bright, neon clothing. The short narrative film by Ryan Staake adds more depth to the community, following bike messengers that deliver mysterious packages.

The adidas Originals by Alexander Wang collection launches in over 140 global adidas Originals and Alexander Wang stores and online on October 7.
