Store Scout – Bally Madison Flagship
BY IVANNIA MORTON
Bally has set up shop on Madison Avenue with its new flagship store. The store includes men’s and women’s bags, shoes, ready-to-wear, and accessories.
The store is on the ground floor of Cumberland House, which is a residential building. In accordance with the Cumberland House’s exterior, the outside features a limestone and black metal storefront. Also notable, are the six floor-to-ceiling windows which create a display case inside the store.
The timber walls define the space, creating a warmth that embraces the remainder of elements; such as the upholstered ottomans and arm chairs. The lighting weaves itself into the ambiance and adds to the soft appeal. The terrazzo flooring is accentuated with wool and silk-blend carpets, in pink and green colorways. With the ceiling being continuously white, it provides contrast in the space. Bally’s new design concept developed by David Chipperfield Architects (DCA) Milan, is prominent within the store.
The 3,000 square foot space also has the ability to convert one of its rooms into a VIP area, allowing customers the option to shop intimately and connect with the store. In celebration of the opening, the new flagship location will host a range of exclusive products only available in America, including the Fall 2017 Moxie bag, Evita and archive inspired Georgette sandals, and the new Scribe capsule for men, as well as a dress shoe and boot.
