Designer Hedi Silmane Denies Launching Own Collection
Hedi Silmane’s lawyer Hervé Temime has issues a statement via Twitter on behalf of the designer to deny rumors that Silmane is seeking backing to fund his own collection. The post specifically stated that Silmane “has never had in the past, let alone now, the intention or desire to launch a brand under his name.” Rumors surrounding Silmane joining a house such as Chanel were not addressed.

After over a decade at the helm, Jonathan Akeroyd, is parting ways as CEO of Kering owned Alexander McQueen to “pursue other interests.” Akeroyd joined Alexander McQueen in 2004 from London based luxury retailer Harrods where he held various roles for 15 years.

Kering has tapped Emmanuel Gintzburger as new CEO of Alexander McQueen. Gintzburger was most recently Worldwide Retail and Wholesale Director at Kering owned Yves Saint Laurent. Prior to that Gintzburger held various roles at Lanvin, Sephora, and Louis Vuitton.

Rodrigo Bazan departs as President at Alexander Wang to be CEO at Thom Browne. Bazan held the position at Alexander Wang since December of 2010 where he oversaw the growth of retail markets and new product categories, which included the rollout of 27 stores globally.  Prior to that, Bazan held positions as GM and VP at Marc Jacobs International Middle Eastern, Indian and European markets. No successor has been appointed.

Alessandra Facchinetti resigns from her position as Creative Director at Tod’s Corp. to “focus on other projects.” Facchinetti originally took the position at Tod’s in 2013 replacing Derek Lam. Prior to this, Facchinetti held the position as Creative Director at Valentino and was Tom Ford’s successor at Gucci.

Erlado Poletto Steps Down as Furla CEO
CEO Erlado Poletto has resigned as CEO of Bologna-based Furla. Poletto joined Furla in 2010 from parent company of Brooks Brothers, Retail Brand Alliance Inc., were he served as President of Strategic Development and International Business Worldwide.

John Hardy Appoints Hollie Bonneville Barden As Creative Director
Luxury jewelry brand John Hardy has tapped Hollie Bonneville Barden as Creative Director. Bonneville Barden previously held various roles at DeBeers Diamond Jewelers including Head Designer. She graduated from London’s Central Saint Martin’s College and her first collection will be Fall 2017.

In her new position, Hermann will supervise various luxury brands including Women’s Polo, Chaps, Lauren, Denim & Supply, men’s and women’s footwear, denim and accessories.  Previously, Hermann was the CEO of Kering owned Yves Saint Laurent and prior to that she served as CEO and President of Reed Krakoff.

Malcolm Carfrae is parting ways with Ralph Lauren Corp. as the Global Head of Communications, PR and Media to open a global consultancy in New York. Carfrae joined Ralph Lauren in 2014 from Calvin Klein where he worked for 11 years, rising to the role of EVP Global Communications. Prior to that he was with Bryan Morel PR in London for seven years. No replacement has been named.

Jonathan Ramsden is resigning as COO from Abercrombie & Fitch Co after 2 years in the position and 7 years at the company. His duties will be taken over by CFO Joanne Crevoiserat, Chief Merchandising Officer Fran Horowitz and Executive Chairman Arthur Martines. Since joining the company in 2008, Rasmden held various positions including EVP CFO. Prior to Abercrombie & Fitch, Rasmden worked as CFO at TBWA Worldwide Inc., which is a subdivision of the Omnicom Group Inc. from 1998 to 2008.

Prior to joining the company in June of 2013, Bagattini was Senior VP for Africa and Asia divisions at Carlsberg.

Alain Riguidel has been appointed President of Kering Luxury Watch Division in North America. In his new position, Riguidel will oversee Tradema of America Inc. and Ulysses Nardin Inc. and will be supervising all activities of Girard-Perregaux and Ulysses Nardin in North America. Recently, Riguidel worked at Piaget Latin America and Caribbean as the Regional Brand Director in Miami.  Prior to that, he held various management positions with the Richmond group through the past 18 years in South America, Europe and the Middle East.

American Eagle Names Peter Horvath Chief Global Commercial Officer
Peter Z. Horvath has joined American Eagle Outfitters as Chief Global Commercial and Administrative Officer. Horvath will be responsible for legal and corporate strategy, global store operations, real estate, human resources, and merchandise planning. Horvath was previously CEO of Mission Essential Personnel and prior to that was EVP, COO for Victoria’s Secret Stores.

Chief Merchandising Officer Henry Stafford has resigned from his post at Under Armour. Stafford joined Under Armour in 2010 as the SVP Apparel, Outdoor and Accessories rising to President North America before his current role. Prior to Under Armour Stafford was Chief Merchandising Officer of American Eagle Outfitters and prior to that he was DMM at Old Navy. CMO Kip Fulks will take up the Stafford’s duties on an interim basis.

Italian Luxury menswear firm Brioni will hold its first show by new Creative Director Justin O’Shea on July 4th in Paris during women’s couture week.

Damir Doma to Show Men’s and Women’s Together
While a number of Men’s design houses including Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein Collection, Costume National, No. 21, and Ermenegildo Zegna, have opted out of showing this upcoming June, designer Damir Doma will be merging his Men’s and Women’s presentations into one for his June showing during Milan Fashion Week.

Alison Edmond, Fashion Editor-at-Large at Marie Claire US since 2009, has been tapped by Los Angeles based C Magazine as their new Fashion Director. In her new role she will oversee all fashion, jewelry and accessories news as well cover and fashion portfolios. Previously Edmond held various roles including Creative/Fashion Director Harper’s Bazaar UK and West Coast Editor of Harper’s Bazaar.

Los Angeles based PR firm The Brand House has been rebranded as The Brand Agency. The agency founded by Priscila Martinez is a full service, entertainment, marketing and public relations firm.

Maxime Richard, previously Director at Black Frame, is now Account Director at Grayscale PR.

Sophie Muggleton, previously Account Executive at Exposure, is now Senior Account Executive, Entertainment Marketing at Starworks Group.

Carol Moniz, previously Digital PR Manager at Kenneth Cole Productions, is now Account Executive at Michele Marie PR.
