John Varvatos Taps Mark Brashear as CEO
John Varvatos Enterprises has appointed Mark Brashear as President and CEO. Brasher joins John Varvatos from Michael Kors, where he served as President of Menswear. Prior to Kors he was the Chairman and CEO of Hugo Boss Americans for five years and before that President of Faconnable for 7 years.
J.Crew Names Michael J. Nicholson COO & CFO
Michael J. Nicholson has been appointed President, COO and CFO of J.Crew. Nicholson joins the American retailer from Ann Inc., where he served most recently as EVP, COO and CFO. Prior to Ann Inc., Nicholson held various executive positions at Limited Brands, including EVP, COO and CFO for Victoria’s Secret Beauty Company. Nicholson will report to Millard Drexler, Chairman and CEO.
Leonardo Minerva Appointed COO of Calvin Klein Italy
The Italian branch Calvin Klein Collection & Calvin Klein Inc. has named Leonardo Minerv COO. Previously Minerva served as Director of Industrial Strategy at Saint Laurent in Paris. Prior to that he held senior positions at Fendi and Procter & Gamble. Minerva will be based in Milan and report to Michelle Kessler-Sanders, president of Calvin Klein Collection.
Michael Kors Taps Don Witkowski as President of Men’s
Former VP of Merchandising at John Varvatos, Don Witkowski, has been named President of Men’s at Michael Kors. Witkowski has previously worked for Michael Kors as the President of Men’s from 2003 to 2005. Prior to John Varvatos he held various roles at Barneys New York, Donna Karan, Nautical and Miss Sixty.
American Eagle Outfitters Names Jay Schottenstein CEO
Teen apparel company, American Eagle Outfitters, has appointed Jay Schottenstein as CEO. He has served as interim CEO since January 2014, when former CEO Robert Hanson resigned. Schottenstein had served as Chairman of AEO since March 1992 and held the role of Chief Executive since then for ten years.
Michelle Kelly, previously President at Lilly Pulitzer, is now Group CEO at parent company, Oxford Industries.
Pascal Morand Appointed Executive President of Fédération Française De La Couture
The Fédération Française De La Couture has named Pascal Morand Executive President. He will succeed Stéphane Wargnier, who will become the federation’s president, Ralph Toledano’s advisor. Morand’s responsibilities will be overseeing the Chambre Syndicale de la haute couture and the Chambre Syndicale of RTW Fashion Designers. Previously, Morand served as Deputy Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris Region as well as Director General of Institut Français de la Mode.
Glossybox Founder Charles von Abercron Departs Company
After five years, founder of Glossybox, Charles von Abercron, is stepping down from his position as CEO. Dr. Caren Genthner-Kappesz, who previously served as CEO of e-commerce sites Takealot.com and MIH Internet Africa, will succeed him.
Birchbox Appoints Philippe Pinatel President & COO
Philippe Pinatel has been named the first President and COO of Birchbox. Prior to joining the online beauty subscription service company, Pinatel worked at Sephora for nearly 20 years, where he served as SVP of Sephora Canada and General Manager of Sephora Concessions at J.C. Penny.

Birchbox has named Ben Fay as VP of Retail Development and Customer Experience. Prior to that, Fay led retail store design at Apple and J.C. Penney.
