Balenciaga Taps Cédric Charbit as CEO
Balenciaga has named Cédric Charbit as CEO as Isabelle Guichot steps down after nine years in the role. He joins Balenciaga after working as EVP of Marketing and Product at Saint Laurent since 2011. Prior to working under the Kering companies, Charbit held the role as Deputy General Manager at Emilio Pucci from 2008 to 2011.
Paula Nickolds Named Managing Director at John Lewis
Paula Nickolds has been appointed as Managing Director at John Lewis come January 2017. She is replacing Andy Street, who will be stepping down from the role this month. Nickolds joined the company in 1994 as a graduate trainee and worked her way up within the brand as she was named Buying and Brand Director in 2013. She will be the first Managing Director in all of the department store’s history.
Mike Koppel Retires as Executive VP & CFO of Nordstrom
Mike Koppel will be retiring as Executive VP and CFO of Nordstrom come Spring 2017. He will stay with the company until then and will assist in training his successor. Koppel first joined the company in 1999 and was named CFO in 2001.
Deanna Johnston Appointed CIO at Shiseido Americas
Deanna Johnston has been appointed Chief Information Officer at Shiseido Americas Corporation. Previously Johnston was CIO for Haier America. Prior to that, she was the CIO at Belkin from 2009 to 2015.
Hudson’s Bay Company Taps Ed Burstell as Head of Partnerships
Ed Burstell has been appointed Head of Partnerships at Hudson’s Bay Company, a new position created by the company. Prior to this, Burstell worked with Liberty of London for eight years where he was crucial in rejuvenating the brand through partnerships such as Manolo Blahnik and Hermès.
G-Star Raw Names Aitor Throup as Executive Creative Director
G-Star Raw has named Aitor Throup as Executive Director after three years as Creative Consultant in the company. The designer just introduced his first collection named Raw Research for G-Star Raw during Paris Men’s Fashion Week in June.
Ente Moda Italia Appoints Claudio Marenzi as President
Ente Moda Italia has appointed Claudio Marenzi as President succeeding Antonio Gavazzeni. Marenzi is currently the CEO of Herno and President of SMI. He will serve in this position for the next three years.
Marie-Sabine Leclercq, previously Global Communications Director at Lanvin, is now Head of International Marketing and Communications at Bonpoint.
John Graham, previously Senior Vice President of Sales at Speedo USA, is now President.
Valentino to Show Pre-fall in New York
Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli will show the Valentino‘s pre-fall collection in New York City on January 11th. Piccioli’s first solo collection for the house was showed in October in Paris with the spring season.
Jason Wagenheim, previously Senior Vice President of Brand Partnerships at Fusion, is now Head of Revenue at Bustle, a millennial-focused women’s site. Previously Wagenheim held various publishing roles at Condé Nast including VP/Publisher Glamour and Teen Vogue.
James Volpe, previously PR Consultant, is now Associate Vice President, Fashion at 5W Public Relations.
Erin Smolinski, previously Head of PR and Communications at Sandro and Maje, is now Head of PR and Communications at The dFm.

Archita Patel, previously Account coordinator at Think PR, has been promoted to Junior Account Executive.
