Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey Steps Aside
Burberry Group CEO, Christopher Bailey, is set to hand over his CEO title to Marco Gobbetti beginning next year. Bailey was appointed to the CEO role in 2013. Bailey will continue as Chief Creative Officer and take on the newly creative role of President when Gobbetti comes onboard.
Burberry Taps Marco Gobbetti CEO
With Bailey stepping aside, Burberry has tapped Marco Gobbetti CEO. Gobbetti is currently served as Chairman and CEO of French fashion house, Céline. Prior to that, he served as CEO of LVMH’s Givenchy and was also CEO of Moschino.
Burberry Appoints Julie Brown as COO
Burberry has named Julie Brown as COO and CFO starting in early 2017. In her new role, Brown will be responsibile for finance, investor relations, IT, global business services and business transformation. Brown is still currently serving as CFO at Smith and Nephew. Prior to that, she served as VP Group Finance, and most recently Interim CFO at AstraZeneca plc.
Stuart Weitzman CEO Wayne Kulkin Steps Down to Consult
Wayne Kulkin, current CEO of Stuart Weitzman, will be taking on a consulting role at the firm. Kulkin was appointed CEO in 2013. Kulkin has been Stuart Weitzman for 26 years serving various roles including Vice Chairman.
Wendy Kahn Becomes Stuart Weitzman CEO
Wendy Kahn has joined Stuart Weizman as CEO and Brand President. Kahn is currently CEO of Valentino USA, a role she has had since 2008. Prior to Valentino, Kahn served in various roles at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, including Celine, Marc Jacobs, and Pucci.
Jones, Neves, and Pemsel Join British Fashion Counsel
The British Fashion Council has appointed three new non-executive directors to join its board. Dylan Jones, Editor-in-Chief of British GQ, Farfetch Founder and CEO José Neves, and CEO of Guardian Media Group, David Pemsel are all joining the board.
Jill Layfield, previously CEO at Backcountry.com, is now CEO at Tamara Mellon.
Alexa Chung Appoints Edwin Bodson Managing Director
Alexa Chung has named Edwin Bodson Managing Director for her eponymous ready-to-wear fashion line, which is set to hit stores May 2017. Bodson previously held various positions at Haider Ackermann including Head of Atelier and Commercial Director.
Elite Model Look International Taps Alexandra Parolini as GM
Elite Model Look International has tapped Alexandra Parolini as General Manager. In her new role, Pasolini will be responsible in developing marketing strategies for digital, sponsorships and licensing. Parolini previously held various roles at Mondadori and Condé Nast.
Livio Damiano, previously Account Manager at Karla Otto, is now Senior PR manager at Proenza Schouler.
Margaret Maldonado, founder of L’Agence, is now Director of Women’s RTW at AG.
Adam McCollum, previously Senior Director at KCD, is now Head of PR at Porsche Design.
Thakoon is returning to NYFW: Women’s and will show on September 8th in New York.
Tom Ford will host an intimate presentation in New York on September 7th.
St. Gallen, Switzerland based Akris is shifting its show from Paris to New York for this season only.
