François-Henri Pinault Steps Down From Puma Board
Kering‘s Chairman and Chief Executive, François-Henri Pinault, has exited from Puma’s board of directors. Kering purchased the athletic-fashion brand in 2007 when the firm was valued at ~$6 billion USD. In the past two years Kering has divested itself of smaller athletic brands, Tretorn and Electric. The recent move by Pinault has sparked speculation that Kering may be preparing to sell its holding in Herzogenaurach, Germany-based Puma.
Simona Barbieri Steps Down As Creative Director of Twin Set
After 27 years at the helm of the label she helped to create, Twin Set-Simona Barbieri, Creative Director Simona Barbieri is departing from the firm after selling her remaining 10 percent stake in her firm to The Carlyle Group. Barbieri co-founded the Capri, Italy fashion label in 1990 with Tiziano Sgarbi. The Carlyle Group acquired 70 percent of Twin Set-Simona Barbieri in 2012, upping its stake to 90 percent in 2015.
Coty Taps Sean Foster as SVP eCommerce
Sean Foster has joined Coty as Global Senior Vice President of cCommerce. Foster was most recently CEO of Crowdtap. Prior to that he was CEO of dLife, President of Avon online. Earlier he served as Chief Marketing Officer for The Gilt Group.
Etsy Taps Rachel Glaser as CFO
ECommerce firm Etsy has appointed Rachel Glaser as its Chief Financial Officer. Glaser most recently served as CFO of the Leaf Group in Los Angeles. Previously she was CFO of Move, Inc., and SVP Operations Finance at Yahoo. She began her career at Walt Disney Company where she worked in finance for over 19 years.
Edward Enninful Appointed Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue
Edward Enninful has been named Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue effective August. Enninful succeeded Alexandra Shulman, who resigned after 25 years as EIC of the title. Enninful has been Creative and Fashion Director of W Magazine since 2011 and is widely respected in the industry. Previously Enninful served as the Fashion Director of I-d magazine and contributed to Italian Vogue and American Vogue. He was bestowed an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) last year, and in 2014 was awarded Fashion Creator of the Year by the British Fashion Council.
Editor-in-Chief Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz Exits Vogue Arabia
After two issues of the newly launched Vogue Arabia, Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz is departing as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Arabia. Aljuhani Abdulaziz founded Riyadh and Doha members only boutique D’NA prior to her appointment at the Condé Nast International title.
Manuel Arnaut Named Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Arabia
Vogue Arabia has tapped Manuel Arnaut to replace Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Arabia. Arnaut was previously the Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Digest Middle East. Born in Portugal, Arnaut was previously Editor of GQ Portugal and spent eight years from 2004 to 2012 as a journalist for the publication and contributing to Vogue Brazil and GQ Brazil.
Dana Avidan Cohn Named Sole Director of Popsugar
Popsugar Inc. has appointed Dana Avidan Cohn as Executive Style Director reporting to Lisa Sugar, President and Founder. Avidan Cohn spent her last eight years at various roles at InStyle magazine’s print and digital platforms promoted to Executive Style Correspondent in 2015. Prior to that she was a Fashion Market Contributor at Self magazine.
