Declan Kearney named Creative Director of Maiyet
Declan Kearney, former Design Director of Alexander Wang, has been appointed as Creative Director of the luxury label Maiyet. Kearney, hired by Maiyet back in December, began working with the label before news of his new position was made public. The brand will now release a denim and T-Shirt line while growing the label’s shoe and handbag categories. Kearney’s debut will be featured during the Resort Season this upcoming June.
David Yurman names Gabriella Forte as CEO
Industry icon Gabriella Forte, who has served as a longstanding board member of luxury jewelry house David Yurman, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the house, effective immediately. Forte is known industry wide for her international experience and business acumen, having spearheaded luxury houses including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, and Giorgio Armani. Prior to Yurman, Forte consulted for Dolce & Gabbana and was GM of their beauty division, having previously been the President of Dolce & Gabbana USA. Her previous roles include CEO of iBeauty.com, as well as COO and President of Calvin Klein, where she helped the house expand its global business.
Elio Leoni Sceti Tapped as Coty CEO
Coty Inc. has appointed Elio Leoni Sceti as its new CEO, effective July. Sceti previously was chief executive of Iglo Group, a European food company. Sceti assumes the role from the Chairman, Bart Becht, who stepped into the role after Michele Scannavini left Coty in September.
Thomas Pink appoints Jason Nelson as Head of E-Commerce
LVMH-owned Thomas Pink has appointed Jason Nelson as Head of E-Commerce. Nelson had been consulting with Thomas Pink on their e-commerce sinceJanuary. Prior to that, Nelson led Hobbs and Coast’s e-commerce division. He succeeds Nadine Sharara, who was promoted to e-commerce and customer relationship management director at the group’s Moët Hennessy.
Marco Angeloni named COO of Caruso
Raffaele Caruso has named Marco Angeloni as Chief Operating Officer. Angeloni joined Caruso in 2015 as Director of Business Planning and Development after working at Bain & Co. Angeloni, also a member of the Caruso Board and eldest son of Chairman and CEO Umberto Angeloni, will succeed Emilio Carbonera Giani, who left Caruso in March.
Bill Langsdorf Named President and CFO of Wet Seal
Former CFO of Tilly’s Inc., Bill Langsdorf, will now lead Wet Seal Inc. after the company’s bankruptcy auction. Langsdorf has served Wet Seal Inc., recently renamed Seal 123 Inc., as an adviser since November and will now serve as President and CFO. Versa Capital acquired Wet Seal in the bankruptcy auction in March and closed on the deal last week. Prior to the auction, Wet Seal filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as the company, like many other retailers in the segment, struggled.
Jeremy Langmead returns to Mr Porter as Brand and Content Director
The newly formed Net-A-Porter Group has brought back one of the founding members of Mr Porter, Jeremy Langmead, in the newly created role of Brand and Content Director at Mr Porter. For the past year, Langmead was Chief Content Officer at Christie’s. The former Mr Porter Editor-in-Chief will start in June. John Brodie, current Mr Porter Editor-in-Chief, will oversee all US content as US Editorial Director.
JackThreads appoints Tony Kretten as Creative Director of Commerce
Tony Kretten, former Head of Men’s Global Design of Gap, has been named Creative Director of Commerce of e-commerce site, JackThreads, which is owned by Thrillist Media Group. Kretten also served as Design Director for Structure and was credited for the company’s transition into Express. He has also served as Design Director for Men’s of Guess Jeans. Kretten’s current role will be responsible for designing the first self-made vertical brand, including core basics and trend pieces. The introduction of Kretten into his current role was followed by the appointment of Mark Walker as President of JackThreads. Both Walker and Kretten served the Gap for over a decade as the Head of Men’s.
Iconix COO Seth Horowitz Resigns
Seth Horowitz, Iconix COO for just over a year, has resigned from his position. Horowitz joined Iconix in 2012 as President of Men’s Division and was later promoted to COO in March of 2014. Prior to Iconix, Horotwitz served as President of Modell’s Sporting Goods and Chairman, President and CEO of Everlast Worldwide Inc.
Jennifer Ehrhardt Steps Down as CFO of Tilly’s
Jennifer Ehrhardt will resign from her position as CFO of Tilly’s Inc. The former CFO has served the company since August 2013, after holding positions as Vice President and Corporate Controller of Wet Seal Inc. and Senior Audit Manager of Deloitte. Ehrhardt will remain with the company during the transition period as the company searches for a successor. Ehrhardt is expected to leave the company by the end of June.
Martyn Bowen Named GM of Puma EMEA
Martyn Bowen has been promoted to General Manager of Puma’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), succeeding Volfango Bondi. Bowen will continue his previous duties as Regional General Manager of Puma’s EEMEA (Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and India), which has been merged with EMEA. Bowen joined Puma in 1995 and has served the company in multiple positions. The newly appointed GM will report to CEO Bjorn Gulden.
David Dellamura, previously Press Associate at Alexander Wang, is now PR Manager for the Americas at Ermenegildo Zegna.
Hillary Prim, previously PR Director at American Kennel Club, is now Senior Manager of Communications at DVF Studio.
Sarah Lauren Allen, previously Head of Partner Development at Fever, is now Showroom Director at W by Worth.
Olivia Carrino, previously PR Associate at Shopbop, is now US PR Manager at MiH Jeans.
Brendan Monaghan Promoted to SVP of Advertising for The NY Times
Brendan Monaghan, former VP of Advertising at the The NY Times and current Publisher at The Times, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Advertising. Prior to his current positions, Monaghan served GQ as an Associate Publisher.
Sebastian Tomich, previously VP of Advertising and Branded Content at The New York Times, is now SVP of Advertising and Content at the publication.
JC Demarta, previously VP of Global Advertising at The New York Times, is now SVP of Advertising at the publication.
Leah McLaughlin, previously Editorial Director at Time Inc., is now Director of Special Interest Publishing at Condé Nast.
Faye Power, previously Fashion Editor at Niche Media, is now Senior Fashion Editor at the company.
Adriana Stan, previously PR Manager at Hearst Magazines, is now PR Director at W.
