Gap CMO, Seth Farbman to Step Down
Seth Farbman, CMO of Gap, will step down in January when new Gap brand global president Jeff Kirwan assumes office. Farbman, who joined Gap in 2011 from ad agency, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide in New York, has been widely considered one of the most influential CMO’s in and outside the industry. His departure comes at a time when Gap is making a number of major executive transitions at the senior level including Gap Inc. CEO Glenn Murphy stepping down to be replaced by Art Peck, currently president of growth, innovation and digital operations.
Mulberry Taps Gilhart
Julie Gilhart, a freelance fashion consultant, is now on the Mulberry company board as a non-Executive Director. Over the years, Gilhart has advised clients including Amazon, LVMH, and Tory Burch. Prior to joining the British Luxury label Mulberry, Gilhart spent 18 years at Barneys New York.
Net-a-Porter Hires VP of Global Buying
Sarah Rutson, previously a longtime Fashion Director of Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, is now the Vice President of Global Buying for Net-a-Porter. Prior to joining the womenswear e-tailer, Rutson worked with Lane Crawford for over two decades and is credited with developing the women’s contemporary department. Effective January 12, she joins the luxury retailer’s New York offices and will report to Net-a-Porter President, Alison Loehnis.
Michael Barnes, previously is CEO of Signet, is now CEO of Francesca’s Holdings Corp.
Michele Sofisti, previously CEO of Gucci Watches and Jewelry, has left the company.
Stefanie Mohr, previously PR Director of Glamour, is now Assistant Vice President of Public Relations at L’Oréal Paris.
Rob Caldwell, previously Director of VIP Relations at David Yurman, is now Senior PR Director at Badgley Mischka.
