Cavalli Appoints Carlo Di Biagio Chief Operating Officer
Carlo Di Biagio is returning to the Roberto Cavalli under new owner Clessidra SGR as COO. Di Biagio previously held the same position in Cavalli’s Florence-based firm from 2009 to 2014, working under then CEO Gianluca Brozzetti. Di Biagio and Brozzetti both left Cavalli in 2014 to join jewelry firm Buccellati. Prior to first joining Cavalli, Di Biagio was the Finance Director at Procter & Gamble Co., along with holding board-level roles at many Italian and international firms.
Peter Williams Exits as Jaeger Chairman
After six months as the Chairman of Jaeger, Peter Williams has stepped down from his position. Williams had joined the chain in November for the purpose of putting its five-year turnaround plan into action. Currently, he is chairman of Boohoo.com, online fashion retailer, Brissi and Mister Spex.
Steven Murphy leaves Ralph Lauren Board
Steven Murphy has resigned after nine years as Director at Ralph Lauren Corp. Murphy will continue to consult for the firm on strategic matters. Murphy was previously the CEO of Christie’s International and prior to that served as President and CEO of Rodale Inc.
Slate & Stone Appoints Jeff Block President
Jeff Block, previously VP of Sales at Perry Ellis, has been named President for New York sportswear firm Slate & Stone. Prior to Perry Ellis, Slate held VP positions at Cockpit USA and Original Penguin.
Ted Marlow Retires as CEO of Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters Group CEO, Ted Marlow, announced that he will resign his position at the end of August. Marlow served as President of the firm from 2001-2010. In 2012, after then-CEO Glen Senk stepped down, Marlow returned to Urban Outfitters as CEO. His successor has yet to be announced.
Net-a-Porter Taps Claire Chung as GM China
Net-a-Porter has named Claire Chung as GM China, a newly created position. Previously Chung served VP of international business development at Shangpin, a Chinese fashion site.
Jen Lavelle, previously Marketing Director at Mizzen+Main, is now Chief Marketing Officer at the company.
Adam Douglas, previously Account Manager at Williamson PR, is now PR Manager in Men’s and Home at Gilt.
Lindsay Zurlo, previously Media Relations Coordinator at Tiffany & Co., is now PR Manager for Gucci Timepieces and Jewelry.
David & Goliath Revamping Creative Team
David & Goliath (D&G) has added 12 new people to its creative team, including three Creative Directors: Brandon Davis, Nick Hine, and Rick Utzinger. The other roles hired include Art Directors, Copywriters, and an Associate Creative Director. Davis previously worked at Widen & Kennedy, and Hine was Global Executive Creative Director at TBWA\Chiat\Day. Utzinger also served at TBWA\Chiat\Day as Creative Director.
Partners + Napier NYC Taps Ted Florea as Chief Strategy Officer
Ted Florea has been appointed by creative agency Partners + Napier NYC (PNYC) as its new Chief Strategy Officer. Florea previously served as head of brand strategy at Droga5. In his new role, Florea will be responsible for the strategic leadership of all of the PNYC businesses.
Style.com’s Dirk Standen Joins W
Dirk Standen, who steered Condé Nast’s Style.com as Editor-in-Chief since 2005, has been named Digital Creative Director at W magazine. Straden is credited with transforming Style.com into the first major fashion mobile website, which received industry wide accolades, including a 2015 Webby Award. In his new role, Straden will be responsible for W magazines brand’s digital strategy.
Julia Carrick Tapped by Country Town & House
Publisher Julia Carrick has joined with Country & Town House. Carrick previously spent 30 years as the Founder, Publisher, and Global President of Financial Times Newspaper’s luxury lifestyle magazine, How to Spend It. Carrick will continue as global luxury advisor to Bell Pottinger Communications.

Renee Jacques, previously Viral Editor at The Huffington Post, is now Associate Digital Editor at Allure.
