British fashion superstars gathered for a star-studded celebration of the fashion industry Monday evening at the British Fashion Awards 2014 held at London’s Coliseum.

Saint Martin’s Lane was closed to accommodate the extravaganza kicking off with a red carpet sprinkled with Swarovski crystals. Inside the gilded theatre, Womenswear Designer of the Year went to Canadian-born Erdem Moralioglu while J.W. Anderson, the Northern-Irish designer who has recently took on the Creative Director role at the Spanish luxury brand Loewe, was awarded Menswear Designer of the Year.

Fresh off opening her first stand-alone store in London’s Dover Street, Victoria Beckham won Brand of the Year while Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton took International Designer.

John Galliano, who recently took the reins at the house of Margiela, presented British-born editor of US Vogue Anna Wintour an Outstanding Achievement Award. It was a fitting pairing, as Wintour has been a champion of Galliano for most of his career, featuring his clothes prominently in US Vogue and connecting him with businessmen to finance his company in the early 1990s. Wintour sported a vintage Galliano design and during her acceptance speech discussed the importance of using fashion as a platform to do good.

Cara Delevingne flew in for the evening from Austria with model friend Kendall Jenner as the two have been preparing for the Chanel Métiers d’Art show which will take place tomorrow morning back in Austria. Fortunately the trip was worthwhile as she took Model of the Year.

Emma Watson took home fan favorite, British Style Award, voted on by over 3,000 members of the general public. The 63 British Fashion Award nominees were narrowed down to 17 winners, chosen by over 400 industry figureheads from around the world.
