Raf Simons revives Calvin Klein’s Obsession campaign from 1993 for the campaign of the new Obsessed fragrance

Obsessed, the women’s and men’s fragrances by Calvin Klein, hits stores in July and is supported by a campaign starring Kate Moss and Mario Sorrenti, the face and photographer of Calvin Klein’s Obsession campaign from 1993, respectively.

The new campaign continues the 20-plus year old Obsession story, with black and white imagery of a young Moss with translucent bottles of the new fragrance. The simple yet effective imagery is very nostalgic, channeling the American brand’s iconic campaign that led to much of its success.

If you feel that Calvin Klein’s new campaign for its Obsessed fragrance looks familiar, you won’t be wrong. Creative Director Raf Simons turned to the brand archives for images of the original Obsession campaign to serve as the photos for the new Obsessed campaign. He also partnered with Sorrenti to edit the photos for today.

While Moss serves as the face of the women’s fragrance, a young Sorrenti fronts the men’s campaign. Sorrenti’s photos, which are from the same Obsession campaign shoot, were taken by Moss when the photographer and model decided to switch roles.

Sorrenti said that he was “obsessed” with Moss, no pun intended, but it is fitting that Simons and the duo revive the Obsession story for the new Obsessed fragrance.
