The Store Scout | ISABEL MARANT Manhattan Upper East Side
BY KENNETH RICHARD
Parisian designer Isabel Marant opened the doors to her eponymous Upper East Side store at 23 East 67th Street this weekend and we thought you may want a peek. The Madison Avenue location marks the fourth store in the US for the designer, following the New York (Soho), LA and San Francisco boutiques.
Envisioned by Franklin Azzi Architecture, Marant’s new space occupies 1,700 square feet of the ground floor of a pre-war townhouse nestled between Madison and Fifth Avenues. Materials and finishes include cool poured concrete, sleek iron rods and woven straw walls.
The designer, who launched her line with jewelry in 1994 and opened her first boutique in Paris in 1998, now has more than 19 doors across the globe. The Madison Avenue location will house the main line, a selection of the Etoile collection that debuted in 2003, and accessories.
