Model and Director Jade de Lavareille’s Chanel Cruise Video

By Kenneth Richard | The Impressionist

Model Jade de Lavareille recently cracked The Impression’s Top 10 Fashion Films of the Season list with her charming behind-the-scenes video of the Fall 2015 Chanel show. The model-turned-director-slash-editor is back again to give us all a look at Chanel’s recent Cruise show in Seoul Korea.

While her first Chanel video gave us a glimpse of her day, this new one records her entire trip, starting as she flies from Paris to Seoul, skateboard in tow of course. The video reminds us of that many of the models are just young and out to have fun as they flop on the beds of their hotel rooms, swim in the hotel pool, play in the hallways and simply enjoy the moment as they should. As work beckons, Lavareille captures the talent as they board a bus to the venue, go through hair and makeup, do a run-through, and eventually the show itself.

The biggest difference between the recent and previous video is the role of Chanel as the brand got behind the model/director to distribute the video, which should do a lot for her viewership. As it should. Lavareille is a talent who has created a point-of-view, behind-the-scene genre to fashion films that takes viewers past the velvet ropes and allows them access to the life of a model. She is a skateboarding story-teller and in an age where content is king, Lavareille is rolling in the right direction.
