Philosophy just got more interesting than the socratic method drinking game. Three months after Natalie Ratabesi left Philosophy, a diffusion of Alberta Ferretti owned by parent company Aeffe, the firm announced the appointment of Lorenzo Serafini as Creative Director. For the past five years Serafini has been with Dolce & Gabbana as lead womenswear designer as well as lead designer for the now defunct D&G line. A graduate of the Naba-Nuova Accademia di belle arti di Milano, Serafini got his start at Roberto Cavalli where he worked for 10 years rising through the ranks to lead womenswear design.
Philosophy is a positive term defined by deep and stimulating thoughts and ideas. I’m happy to have the opportunity to create a new fashion story exploring my own aesthetic.
The line recently relocated it’s runway from from New York back to Milan post Ratabesi’s departure and will continue showing at Milan Fashion Week with Serafini’s first collection to debut in time for the Pre-Fall 2015 season.
