MICHAEL KORS celebrates mothers with his latest video Like Mother Like Daughter

While many a brand talks the talk of having an ongoing content development plan that constantly engages with their audience, the team at Michael Kors prefers to walk the walk as exampled by their latest video and social campaign, “Like Mother Like Daughter.”

That recent walk is done in partnership with photographer Pamela Hanson who captures fashionable mom and model, Alessandra Ambrosio, and her 7-year-old daughter Anja. The piece is quite simply a series of mother daughter moments full of laughter, bonding time and a little frosting. The campaign is designed for social with images accompanied by heartfelt, share-worthy, calligraphy-style phrases about motherhood. And of course product is at the center with it driving to an online gift guide including matching handbags in two sizes (for mothers and daughters), polished laser-cut sneakers, and the latest fragrance.

The campaign is as sharp as the contrast in the black and white images as Mother’s Day is a global holiday that designers have found difficulty marketing toward while maintaining their designer cache.  In the age of digital with content being 24/7 it is wise of the house to take advantage of these key moments. Michael’s mother should be proud.
