Nathalie Croquet Spoofs Fashion Advertising Campaigns

Every once in a while someone in fashion comes along with the good sense to remind us of the sport of it all. This season Jean Paul Gaultier’s photo director, Nathalie Croquet, has brightened our day with her catchy Instagram series ‘Spoof’. In the series the former fashion editor of Biba magazine turns the lens on herself, recreating a selection of fashion ads. Channeling her inner Cindy Sherman, Croquet mimics Kate Moss’s bright smile for Eleven Paris, Gisele Bundchen’s slouch for Sonia Rykiel, and Edie Campbell’s pout for Lanvin. She positions each parody adjacent the original on her Instagram account for insta-laughs and building what we hope will be a traveling gallery retrospective. And as we all know: ‘the sincerest form of flattery’ is simply part of the game.
