China Gucci Exhibit Opens ft. works of Alessandro Michele and Katie Grand
By Marissa Tozzi | Impressionist
Contemporary is the theme of the new Gucci Exhibit that’s recently been opened in China, being hosted in Shanghai’s Minsheng Art Museum. Teaming up for this occasion is new dynamic duo, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele and LOVE magazine editor-in-chief Katie Grand, and they wanted to create a contemporary concept, combining both the past and future in one.
Entitled No Longer/Not Yet, Michele and Grand feature work from artists like Cao Fei – Chinese multimedia artist, Rachel Feinstein – American sculptor, Jenny Holzer – American Neo-conceptual artist, Glen Luchford – British photographer, Steve Mackey and John Gosling – sound designers, Nigel Shafran – British photographer, Li Shurui – Chinese Op artist, and Unskilled Worker – British illustrator and artist. Also included is personal work by Alessandro Michele himself.
If you ask The Impression, we’d say Michele and Grand’s pairing was a success. We got the perfect contemporary feel throughout the exhibit, truly fitting their No Longer/Not Yet title.
