Chandelier Creative Helps Old Navy steal our attention with their latest Black Friday ad
By Kenneth Richard | The Impressionist
Chandelier Creative’s latest spot for Old Navy introduces several new characters for Julia Louis-Dreyfus to play off of and the result is the freshest spot for the brand yet.
To help Old Navy get out the word on their upcoming Black Friday million dollar sweepstakes, Creative Directors Richard Christiansen and Lena Kuffner have developed “Snoopin’ Around,” a spot where a pair of bubbling robbers try to shake down rapper Snoop Dogg for a cool mil. Outside of Snoop, comedian Kumail Nanjiani, of HBO’s Silicon Valley, also joins the cast as an inept getaway driver who is of little help in stealing Snoop’s million but plenty great at stealing the show.
The writing is crisp, the banter is perfect, the pacing is solid and the cast superb, which results in an elevated brands spot and a 2:20 film that both do a great job at reinforcing their call to action messaging. And if that isn’t enough to get the word out, Snoop Dogg will help on other airwaves by also doing radio spots.
The Impression likes the additional new cast members and hopes that the team at Old Navy recognizes that good things come in threes.
