As Peter Dundas is preparing for his homecoming to the house of Cavalli, where he worked from 2002 to 2005 as the chief designer, the brand’s founder himself, Roberto Cavalli, is preparing big changes. In December, the company announced that it was in exclusive talks with Italian private equity firm, Clessidra SGR, who is poised to buy 90 percent of the company valued at $1 billion. An agreement is supposed to be reached at the end of March.
Mr. Cavalli himself along with his wife plan to stay involved with the company to “oversee that the brand roots and original style — that has made this company so successful — will be respected” and to “help the transition toward the future.” The Impression thought ‘How can we look to the future without remembering the past’?
