Saint Laurent Leads the New Order for the New Year in Their 2018 Debut Film
BY GILLIAN CASTRO
Blasting out of the holiday season and leading the charge for 2018, Saint Laurent’s Creative Director, Anthony Vaccarello, and creative photography duo, Inez & Vinoodh, have released an Atomic Blonde of a film to help get us into the Saint Laurent spirit of the new year.
In the short film, models Anja Rubik, Raquel Zimmermann, Maria Miguel, Hiandra Martinez, Adut Akech Bior, and Cara Taylor are seen atop of a city high-rise, strutting and dancing to New Order’s 80’s electric anthem Blue Monday. In a stark neon enhanced set, the mood is a hybrid ode to the stylistic make-up of Missing Persons’ Dale Bozzio blended with 80’s post punk hair styles straight out of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner (the original).
Boldness, color, and energy is the name of the game for the Spring 2018 fashion film projecting strong female protagonists that rule the night and exude confidence and charisma.
This liveliness and energy brought forth by Saint Laurent is what everyone should be bringing with them into the new year.
We here at The Impression appreciate Saint Laurent’s New Order and look forward to how they will continue to liven up 2018.
