Caught in a Dark Romance with SALVATORE FERRAGAMO‘s RTW Special Gallery Launch -Styled by, La Marque’s Meredith Melling and Valerie Macaulay

BY BRITTANY EGER

For the launch of their online RTW site, Salvatore Ferragamo cultivated the talents of former Vogue stylists, La Marque’s Meredith Melling and Valerie Macaulay, in a new special fashion gallery for the Fall 2016 collection. The collection, with it’s haute bohemian spirit, was fittingly shot in an ornate townhouse in New York’s West Village by photographers Ungano and Agriodimas. On the other side of the lens was, fresh-faced model Rose Gilroy, daughter of Rene Russo.

Through a contemporary point of view, the gallery captures the vibrance, femininity and exquisite detail of the collection. The fashion house accomplishes this overall look with the use of Fall Winter 2016’s hottest trends including what the designer labels as: striking prints, graphic lines, unexpected accents, color blocking, textured folds and pleats, as well as dramatic capes and plush accessories, expressing a dark romance.

We caught up with the styling duo, Meredith and Valerie, to tell us more about the project:

How did you get involved with the project?
We have been working with Ferragamo on several projects, the Fiamma campaign being one of the first almost three years ago. We have been big fans of the brand and working closely together for VIP dressing that it all came together organically.

How did you concept the shoot?
There was so much color and texture to the Fall collection that we wanted to make we chose a location that would highlight that richness but match Rose’s vibrancy and youth. We chose a downtown location with jewel toned accents that played off the clothes and energy beautifully.

Why did you decide to use Rose Gilroy over another model?
We wanted to use a fresh face for these images but still stay true to the Ferragamo muse, so Rose’s classic beauty and Hollywood heritage were a perfect combination for the Fall collection. No greater confirmation that we were right about her was how simply stunning she looked at the Ferragamo show in Milan a few weeks before the images went live.
