Coach Announces Selena Gomez as the Face of Fall 2017
BY BRENNA O’DONNELL
Selena Gomez has been announced as the new face of Coach for their Fall 2017 ad campaign shot by Steven Meisel. The collaboration pairs the iconic American ‘It Girl’ with the classic American bag, an sets it in the quintessential American backdrop of New York City.
Selena Gomez has always rebelled against the idea of committing to just one path and always exceeds expectations in acting, singing, producing, and social activism. The first image of the campaign shows her in the back of a 1976 Plymouth Fury, vintage cars being a nod to old Coach campaigns for their symbolism of endless routes.
Even though Selena has remained a consistent and optimistic presence in mainstream media for years now, she also has infinite possibilities in front of her, and this is to be depicted in three short films starring Gomez, which will debut at the time of Coach’s Fall 2017 campaign launch next week. Each film will showcase one of three key bags in the fall collection, The Rogue, The Coach Swagger, and The Edie, and will feature Selena getting ready for a different night out in New York City.
