Meet in the Gap with Janelle Monáe this 2017 Holiday Season

BY STEPHANIE PETTWAY

The Gap & YARD continue their “Meet Me in the Gap” campaign for the holidays with Janelle Monáe joining the family for the holiday season. Alongside her, are six choirs from different places, backgrounds, and genres to celebrate the joy of the holidays by singing an acapella version of “(You) Got What I Need,” by Freddie Scott for the film. Directed by Paul Hunter, the film takes place in the classic blank white space that has become Gap’s signature.

“I love the unity of the ‘Meet Me in the Gap’ concept. It really reflects the idea that although we may be from different parts of the world, when we come together, we can create something magical.” – Janelle Monáe

The film embraces the magic of the holidays, filled with optimism and cheerfulness, as it invites everyone to get together this holiday season and realize that we are more the same than we are different. In addition to the main TV spot featuring Monáe, there will be a series of short videos and campaign imagery that will feature a mix of families (in whatever form that means to you), models, and influencers.

At The Impression, we are enthusiastic to see the return of the “Meet Me in the Gap” campaign, especially as Gap uses its idea of unity to get everyone ready for this holiday season.
