While we would love to say we had a restful August basking in the sun and admiring the surf, in truth, we decided to take the holiday month to get some ink on our hands and today we launch our first print issue!
Why print? Because old-school is the new school. Because we love to zig to everyone’s zag. Because this week marks our one year anniversary. And because some stories deserve a different medium.
We didn’t do this alone, it takes a village and grateful for everyone’s efforts, from advertisers such as Calvin Klein Collection, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors Fragrance, BCBG Max Azria, Frame Denim, Hervé Leger and others to the team of passionate creatives who shared their advice and support like Trey Laird, Fabien Barron, Julien Gallico, and Pascal Dangin. As well as our own team of Impressionists who dived in to bring new stories to life.
The magazine, a media partner of IMG, Pier 59 Studios and MADE Fashion Week, will be distributed at all the major New York Fashion Week venues. Our first issue breaks today and our follow up covering the runway shows will debut next week.
Launch issue highlights included:
- Fabien Baron discusses his career and passion for photography
- Trey Laird and CMO Avery Baker talk about the origins of The Hilfigers and creating the longest consecutive ad campaign in fashion history
- Rising super-model Taylor Hill and stylist Elizabeth Sulcer talk Victoria’s Secret Angels and the catwalk
- A look at the top image makers of fashion, including Pascal Dangin, Giovanni Bianco, David James, Doug Lloyd, Jens Grede and Erik Torstensson, Magnus Berger and Tenzin Wild, and more.
Of course we will share those stories and others online as well.
We had no idea when we launched a year ago the warm reception we would receive and that we would be doing another launch a year later. Along the way we have met so many phenomenal, talented and generous people that have helped us bring The Impression to life. We love the industry and take none of it for granted. And we promise to continue to work diligently to inform, inspire, celebrate and champion the industry and you.
Thank you so very much for all your support.
Enjoy the shows, the change of seasons, and the warmth of our industry.
With kind regards,
