For many, contemporary is the new ready-to-wear, reasonably priced, well designed and flexible enough to dress up or down for everyday wear. The Impression wished to champion these unsung heroes who walk a fine line between designer and mass. This year the ads feature a fashion first in Equipment who took out the middleman by putting the creative direction, styling and camera in the hands of the model turned something else, Daria Werbowy. The result made our list for simply innovation. Marc by Marc Jacobs switched up its photographer from Juergen Teller to David Sims with dynamic results in an ad campaign that featured web cast talent.
