BRINGING YOU THE LATEST IN FASHION TRENDS FROM THE FALL 2015 SHOWS.
Keeping consistent with New York’s overarching 70s sensibilities, designers including Rodarte, Derek Lam and Tommy Hilfiger introduced preppy, collegiate-inspired looks. Old-school pieces like a modern tennis sweater, leather-edged cape and shrunken blazer were shown in khaki, chocolate, navy, crimson and gold.
With the sub-freezing temperatures in New York City, quirky, voluminous knitwear could not have been more appropriate, as fuzzy shoulder and sleeve details morphed basic chunky sweaters into ultra-warm conversation pieces. Delpozo won, showing colorful crocheted scallops that resembled delicate coral.
Resurrected on Michael Kors’ Fall 2014 runway, fringe shows no sign of going away. Spotted on leather skirts, woven dresses and a macrame robe, the embellishment was at its most outrageous at Rebecca Minkoff, who showed Tina Turner-worthy fringed frocks.
