We’ve said it before and will say it again: ‘Fashion Month is like no other sport in the world.’ Over the course of the last 30 days, our industry rallied around roughly 430 designers and teams who work to provoke, inspire, influence and drive business and behavior.

Will the system evolve? Certainly, but what will stay the same is our good fortune to work in a realm that inspires desire and dreams. As we look back at the best of Fall 2016 we toss aside all the cynicism, the politics and wish to herald those visionaries that lead our industry’s dream factories with collections that inspire us all. Some, like Demna Gvasalia’s Balenciaga, provoke thoughts on silhouette and proportion, some like Hedi Slimane, do the same with a look back to the 80’s, a finger to the system, and just plain fun. Others flow like Midsummer’s Nights Dreams, like that of Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen collection or Marc Jacobs. And some question what it means to be a woman today, like Miuccia Prada at Prada. All our top 10 and plenty of others have gifted us with oils and inks to paint and tell stories for the next season. And we here at The Impression are thankful to be a part of that. Here are THE IMPRESSION’S TOP 10 WOMEN’S DESIGNER COLLECTIONS OF FALL 2016.
