Wang & Dangin gang for Fall 2015

By Kenneth Richard | The Impressionist

Alexander Wang and KiDS Creative Director Pascal Dangin know that ‘nothing draws a crowd like a crowd’ in their latest campaign for the designer’s namesake label. Especially if that crowd reflects the designer’s vision of post-punk modernism with updates of platforms that make Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley long for another Kiss tour.

The partnership of Dangin and Wang have turned out some of our times’ most memorable campaigns precisely because of the blend of Wang’s finger-on-the-pulse design aesthetic with Dangin’s visual balance of stark contrast. Set designer Stefan Beckman’s juxtaposition of the light-toned, distressed location with the dark and stark collection lends itself to the use of black and white by photographer Steven Klein. Models Anna Ewers, Binx Walton, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Isabella Emmack, Lexi Boling, Molly Bair and Sarah Brannon are joined by singer Alice Glass and AyaBambi, a Japanese dance duo whom Wang met via Madonna.

The gang will show up in the September issues of Interview and i-D as well as the fall issues of CR Fashion Book, Love, and Self-Service.
