10 Corso Como this month opened a new exhibit entitled Salvador Dalí, Jean Clemmer: An Encounter, a Work, at its South Street Seaport location in New York City.

Salvador Dalí, Jean Clemmer: An Encounter, a Work, which opened on November 15, is the first time that Clemmer’s photographs of Dalí are on view in the US. The new exhibit is a look into Dalí and Clemmer’s friendship and collaborations that began with their first shoot “Les Pois Chiches”.

Hélène Clemmer Heidsieck directed the exhibit into two sections, featuring forty-two prints from “Mises en scene”, “Metamorphoses” and photos from the “Le Divin Dali” short film.

Dalí and Clemmer’s work together are full cinematic experiences often directed by Dalí and enhanced by Clemmer’s technique. Visitors are invited to dive into each surreal image, leading up to behind-the-scenes images from the set of the film “Le Divin Dali”, which was destroyed by fire after it was filmed.

Salvador Dalí, Jean Clemmer: An Encounter, a Work, is curated by Fondazione Sozzani and Jean Clemmer Archive, and will be on view through February 3rd.
