Acne Studios Teams with Artist Maria Pasenau On Fall Outerwear Photo Series

Acne Studios Presents Fall/Winter 2021 Outerwear with Artist Maria Pasenau

Art and Fashion Imagery Merge In Acne Studios Latest Showcase

For Fall 2021, Acne Studios has collaborated with Norwegian artist Maria Pasenau on a series of images that feature the outerwear collection. Pasenau’s work often focuses on her own body.

In Day by Day, one of her more recent projects, daily self-portraits not only traced a year-long personal journey but also her relationship with clothes as a form of self-expression. As part of the Acne Studios Image Makers series – our collections seen through the gaze of a new generation of talent, captured their way – Pasenau continues the Day by Day project, documenting herself in the outerwear collection around her current home in Odda and the glacier Folgefonna.

It’s just very normal for me to take [my photographs] at home. I work all the time, and have the camera available. With Acne Studios, I did the same thing – had the camera set up because then I could just come home and take the picture straight away, even if I’m drunk, or tired, or just took a shower. That’s important, that’s a part of the picture.

The outerwear featured in Pasenau’s images includes a range of puffer jackets, a padded coat and a fleece sweatshirt in technical fabrics. Cold weather classics include a cocoa brown tech poplin puffer parka with a faux fur-trimmed hood, a hip-length tech canvas puffer in beige or sky blue and a slightly cropped matte puffer in indigo blue. There’s also a mauve ripstop puffer with a hood and drawstring waist, a belted puffer with a high neck and exaggerated collar, and a beige cotton/nylon mid-length padded coat with a padded buckle belt. A beige teddy fleece half-zip sweatshirt with a high neck also functions as outerwear.
