Agent Provocateur

Valentine's Day 2021 Campaign

Review of Agent Provocateur Valentine’s Day 2021 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Sarah Shotton & Photographer Rosaline Shahnavaz

Agent Provocateur gets flexible for a new Valentine’s Day campaign. Led by creative director Sarah Shotton, the scandalously fun lingerie brand recruited photographer Rosaline Shahnavaz and film director Alyn Horton to realize the campaign’s festive and flirty aesthetic.

The imagery conjures up a heady Valentine’s Night sensuality through heart-shaped props and luscious reds and pinks. Bedecked in appropriately inappropriate straps, lace, strings, and everything in between, our long-legged models dominate this space, contorting their bodies into positions which serve to remind us what Valentine’s Day is all about.

Conceptually, the campaign is relatively simple by Agent Provocateur standards. The brand is known for using their campaign imagery to question the boundary between liberation and objectification, using irony to take down sexist tropes while elevating sexiness. This time around, they display a simple confidence in the strength of their designs and their message of empowerment.

Agent Provocateur slays us once again with their alluring celebration of sensuality, confidence, flexibility, and freedom.
