There are two types of people in the world—those who were born with silver spoons in their mouths, and those who wish they were born with silver spoons in their mouths. Some people don’t know a thing about hustling. Shot by Hugo Comte and styled by Haley Woolens, Alexander Wang’s Collection 2 campaign, #TheWangHustle celebrates the art of hustling and hard work.
#TheWangHustle presents like how a blockbuster film would begin, or end—with German model Anna Ewers indulging in the finer things in life. Anna lays in a bathtub filled with hundred dollar bills, with wine by her side. She lays luxuriously by the fireplace among roses. Her cushion protectors are stuffed with racks of money. #TheWangHustle is Alexander Wang ad campaign, takes Real Housewives, without the cheating husband.
Anna Ewers’ character is self-made. She’s secured the bag (literally), and has no issue rolling in it. The campaign also includes a series of captions that accompany the visuals: “She’s not a paper chaser. She’s a money maker” is followed by “She wasn’t born into the lap of luxury. She earned it.” These captions establish Anna Ewers’ character as boss. This character is secure in herself. There’s more: “Her next move? You’ll never know” and “Keep your friends close and your funds closer.” Alexander Wang is sending a very clear message, that they’ve made it, and aren’t going anywhere. Don’t try to knock #The WangHustle.
