BARNEYS NEW YORK Debuts Book Honoring the Store’s Heritage

The ultimate representative of timeless luxury, and a New York City staple, BARNEYS NEW YORK, is celebrating its rich history of advertisements, campaigns, events, and window displays, in a 300 plus page creative narrative, self-titled BARNEYS NEW YORK.
After 93 successful years in the business, influencing New York and fashion culture, the retailer is now debuting its very first book, published by Rizzoli New York and designed by leading design firm Sagmeister & Walsh. The book highlights the brand’s innovative collaborations, historic evolution, provocative window display’s and legacy.
The creation of the book was hugely supported by designers, photographers, and fashion elite. Edited by Interview Magazine editor-at-large Christopher Bollen, with an introduction by Vanity Fair contributing editor David Kamp the book also features quotes from: Bruce Weber, Christian Louboutin, David Bowie, Dries Van Noten, Giorgio Armani, Lazaro Hernandez, Riccardo Tisci, Sarah Jessica Parker, and more. The overwhelming amount of support that Barney’s received throughout the creative process of this publication goes to show the everlasting impact that the retailer has had on the fashion world.
The book can be purchased in two versions: a trade edition and a limited edition. The trade edition is adorned with an iridescent silver “B” and will be available at Barneys.com, all Barneys New York stores, and wherever luxury books are sold. The limited edition features a three-dimensional molded “B” and will be exclussively available at Barney.com and select Barneys New York stores.
This chicly designed, ode to the brand’s progression, from the discount men’s suit store founded by Barney Pressman, in 1923, to the internationally recognized landmark that it is today is sure to be a coffee table must-have for all fashionistas.
