Edmundo Castillo Named Head of Product Design atStuart Weitzman Tapestry owned Stuart Weitzamna has tapped Edmundo Castillo as Head of Design. Castillo most recently served as Creative Director at Aquatalia. The designer received his start at Donna Karan where he spent 8 years, spending a year stint at Ralph Lauren as Design Director before returning to the house to design DKNY. Castillo later moved on to Creative Director roles at Sergio Rossi, Tod’s and Via Spiga.
Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode Re-elects Ralph Toledano as President Ralph Toledano has been re-elected as President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. Toledano has held the post since 2014. Previously, Toledano was CEO of Chloé from 1999 to 2015, and before that he was Managing Director of Guy Laroche.
Florinka Pesenti Resigns as VP Global PR at Ralph Lauren
After two and half years in the role, Florinka Pesenti, VP Global PR at Ralph Lauren Corp., has resigned. She is joining is joining MacAndrews & Forbes, the holding company owned by Ronald Perelman. Prior to Ralph Lauren, Pesenti was Director of PR for Gucci, and prior to that Director of PR for Tod’s.
Ralph Lauren Promotes Ryan Lally to VP Global PR and Brand Communications
Ryan Lally has been promoted to a new role at Ralph Lauren, VP Global PR and Brand Communications. Lally joined Ralph Lauren in 2005 and most recently served as VP Brand Communications. He reports to CMO Jonathan Bottomley.
Snap Inc Nominiates Poppy Thorpe as Director Poppy Thorpe has been nominated by Snap Inc to be their new Director. Currently, Thorpe is the Head of Brand Marketing at cosmetics company Glossier. Previously, Thorpe worked in brand strategy at multiple marketing firms including Anomoly, FNDR, and R/GA. At Snap Inc, she will be succeeding Mitch Lasky, who is departing the company and the board.
Darrell Cavens Joins Tapestry Board of Directors Darrell Cavens has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Tapestry, which owns Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman, and Coach. Currently, Cavens is President or New Ventures at Qurate Retail Group. Prior to that, he was acting President and CEO of Zulily, a brand which he co-founded. In addition to his new rule with Tapestry, Cavens also sits on the Board of Directors for Deliveroo and OfferUp.
Anthropologie Taps Peter Ruis as Managing Director Peter Ruis has been named the new Managing Director of Anthropologie International. Ruis joins from homeware retailer Dunelm where he served as a Non-Executive Director. Prior to that, Ruis was CEO at Jigsaw clothing, and before that he was Executive Branding and Buying Director at John Lewis. In his new role, Ruis will be reporting directly to President of Anthropologie International, Andrew Carnie.
Kerstin Neuber Named as Puma’s Senior Head of Communications Puma has promoted Kerstin Neuber to Senior Head of Communications, a newly created role at the brand. Kerstin first joined Puma in 2007 and most recently served as their Head of Corporate Communications. Prior to that, Neuber worked at Reuters in London as a Correspondent. In her new role with Puma, Neuber will be responsible for corporate communications, employer branding, and brand and product PR.
Susannah Schaffer, previously PR and Social Media Manager at Elizabeth and James, has parted ways with the firm.
Bethany Freund, previoulsy PR Manager at Diane von Furstenberg, is now Associate Manager of Brand Communications at Warby Parker.
Phyllis Posnick Pulls Back from Vogue as Executive Fashion Director Executive Fashion Director at Vogue, Phyllis Posnick is stepping down from her position, but is expected to continue working with the publication in lesser capacity. Posnick first joined Vogue 31 years ago and has served as Executive Fashion Director since 1987. She is known for the striking imagery she produced for the magazine during her tenure by working with renowned photographers such as Irving Penn and Steven Klein. Posnick has published two books about her work, “Extreme Beauty” and “Stoppers: Photographs from my life at Vogue.”
Tonne Goodman Pulls Back from Vogue as Fashion Director Fashion Director at Vogue, Tonne Goodman, is departing from her position but is expected to continue collaborating with the publication in lesser capacity. Goodman first joined Vogue in 2000 and is now well-known for over 100 celebrity cover shoots and editorials. Prior to joining Vogue, Goodman was Fashion Director at Harper’s Bazaar, and VP of Advertising at Calvin Klein.
