Tadashi Yanai Steps Down from Uniqlo as CEO
Chief Executive Officer of Uniqlo, Tadashi Yanai, has announced plans to retire next February when he turns 70. Uniqlo is a subsidiary of Fast Retailing, the retail holding company where Yanai is Founder, Chairman, and CEO. Yanai opened his first Uniqlo store in 1984 in Hiroshima, and since then it has grown into a multinational corporation, with 1,920 stores across the world.

Liz Rodbell Departs Lord & Taylor as President
Lord & Taylor President Liz Rodbell is stepping down from her position which she’s held since 2014. Rodbell first joined Lord & Taylor in 1985 as a Dress Buyer and climbed the ranks, holding positions such as SVP and EVP of Merchandising for Women. Her most recent career change occured from 2014-2017 when she simultaneously served as President of Hudson Bay Canada alongside being President of Lord & Taylor.

Matthew Starker

Matthew Starker Joins Spring as President of Media and Original Content.
Spring has appointed Matthew Starker as President of Media and Original Content. Previously, Starker served as General Manager of Digital at Condé Nast. In his new role at Spring, Starker will be responsible for overseeing production, the creative agency, and content for the group’s events.

Balenciaga Taps Daniel Motta Mello as Head of Communications in the Americas
Daniel Motta Mello is joining Balenciaga as their new Head of Communications and Brand PR for their American operations. Motta Mello joins from Karla Otto where he was VP. Prior to that he was Senior Director of Global Communications at Proenza Schouler, and before that he was PR Director at Christian Dior Couture.

Tommy Hilfiger Names Ben Pruess Head of US Retail
Ben Pruess is joining Tommy Hilfiger as their new Head of US Retail. Previously, Pruess was President of Sports Fashion at Under Armor, where he had been brought on to launch UAS, a high-end activewear collection. Prior to that, he was Global VP of Adidas Originals for 7 years. Before that, he was once a professional snowboarder and later worked with Salomon and Bonfire Snowboards.

Joseph Suchodolski, previously Director of Menswear at HL Group, is now Head of Communications at Allen Edmonds.

Melody Rault, previously Account Director at ReflexGroup, is now Director of Global Consumer Engagement for North America at Origins.


Mimma Viglezio

Mimma Viglezio Appointed Editor of Showstudio
Showstudio has found it’s new Editor in Mimma Viglezio. Previously, Viglezio was at Kering’s Luxury Division where she worked with Gucci Group. Prior to that she served at the Communications Director at Louis Vuitton. In the past she has been Host of Showstudio’s Head to Head series and has appeared on their panels. In her new position, Viglezio will oversee Showstudio’s editorial content on their site.

Elle Men China Appoints Assange Zhou as Editorial Director
Assange Zhou has been tapped as Elle Men China’s Editorial Director. Zhoue most recently served as Editor-in-Chief of New Media as Hearst Media China. He succeeds Li Baojian who recently stepped down from the position.

Kamiu Lee Promoted at Bloglovin’ to CEO
Influencer marketing agency Bloglovin’ has promoted Kamiu Lee to Chief Executive as part of a full-scale rebrand. Lee most recently served as the company’s VP of Strategy and Business Development. Previously, Lee worked Business Development at Rent the Runway, and before that worked Ecommerce at Ralph Lauren. Bloglovin’s rebrand also includes changing the company’s name to Activate, as well as launches Activate Studios, an influencer management suite alongside their influencer marketing operations.
