Julie de Libran Parts Ways With Sonia Rykiel As Creative Director Paris based Sonia Rykiel and Creative Director Julie de Libran have parted ways. De Libran joined the house as its creative lead in 2014 and her departure comes at a time when the house searches for a new investor. Prior to Sonia Rykiel, De Libran spent ten years with Louis Vuitton in women’s and six 6 years at Prada.
Paule Ka Names Maxime Simoëns Artistic Director Paris based Paule Ka has named Maxime Simoëns as Artistic Director. The French designer joins from Loris Azzaro, where he spent two years as artistic director. Simoëns came to notice in fashion circles after gaining notoriety in 2008 at the age of 25 making the shortlist of the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography. Bernard Arnault made an investment in his business in 2012 and the designer showed at Paris couture and RTW. In 2015 the designer took a pause with his namesake label.
Ralph & Russo Appoints Helen David As Chief Growth Officer Privately held design house Ralph & Russo has named Helen David to the newly created role of Chief Growth Officer. David was previously Chief Merchant at Harrods a role she held from 2016 until her resignation last year. She joined Harrods in 2008 holding various roles at the retailer.
Hunter taps Mark Reed as CFO Mark Reed has joined UK based Hunter as CFO. Reed joins the firm from Anya Hindmarch where he served as CFO for the past two years. Prior to that Reed was Finance Director at Hackett. Previously he was with Richemont.
Belstaff Names Sheena Sauvaire CMO Belstaff has appointed Sheena Sauvaire as Chief Marketing Officer. Sauvaire joins Belstaff from Topshop where she served for 13 years, most recently as Global Marketing and Communications Director. Prior to that, she was with Exposure managing fashion clients for six years.
Ted Baker CEO Ray Kelvin Exits Firm After a short leave of absence in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations, Ted Baker Chief Executive Officer Ray Kelvin has resigned.
Alexander McQueen Names Alistair McCallumGlobal PR Director Kering owned and London based Alexander McQueen has appointed Alistair McCallum as the houses new Global PR Director. McCallum previously served at the house as Press Officer from 2008 to 2010. He joins the firm from Fendi where he served as the UK Communications Director for four years. Prior to that, he held various PR roles at Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, and Karla Otto.
Chiara Ferragni Named CEO of Eponymous Label Founder, President, and Creative Director of The Blonde Salad Crew, Chiara Ferragni, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of her namesake Chiara Ferragni Collection.
Jory Wood Syed Appointed Senior Director of PR at Fendi Fendi has named Jory Wood Syed as Sr. Director of PR for the houses New York Office. Wood Syed was previously VP PR at Ermenegildo Zegna where she served in various roles for fifteen years.
Moda Operandi Appoints Akshat Thanawala As Chief Product Officer Akshat Thanawala has been named to the newly appointed role of Chief Product Officer of Moda Operandi. Thanawala joins the firm Chicago based food delivery platform Grubhub where he was VP Product Management. Prior to that, he held product strategy roles with Orbitz and Expedia.
Beautycon Taps Alicia Valencia As President LA-based beauty conference and experiential firm Beautycon has named Alicia Valencia as the firms first President. Valencia joins the firm from Pat McGrath Cosmetics, where she served as Global General Manager for the past several years. Prior to that Valencia was SVP beauty at HSN. The executive spent 17 years at Estee Lauder as well as five years with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
Aliza Licht Departs Alice + Olivia As EVP Marketing After almost three years at the helm of U.S. contemporary collection Alice + Olivia, Aliza Licht, EVP Brand Marketing & Communications has parted ways with the firm. The author Leave Your Mark, and creator of DKNY PR Girl is launching a podcast series inspired by her best-selling book.
Gucci to Show Cruise in Rome For their forthcoming resort showing Gucci has selected the Capitoline Museums of Rome as the location of Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s show on May 28th. The museum is located on Capitoline Hill and houses a large collection of Roman statues, Renaissance art, and other artifacts.
Givenchy to Show Men’s in Florence During Pitti Uomo As the guest at the 96th edition of the Pitti Uomo in Florence, Givenchy Creative Director Clare Waight Keller will unveil her first menswear collection at a showing on June 12th.
