Maureen Chiquet Joins MatchesFashion Board of Directors MatchesFashion has appointed Maureen Chiquet to its Board of Directors as Non-Executive Director. Chiquet is the former Chief Executive Officer of Chanel, having joined in 2003 as Chief Operating Officer and President of US Operations, working there for 13 years before departing the brand in 2016. Prior to Chanel, Chiquet played a pivotal role in turning Gap and Old Navy into multi-billion dollar businesses. Just last year, Chiquet published her book, “Beyond the Label: Women, Leadership, and Success on Our Own Terms,” discussing her theory and experience on female leadership.
LVMH Appoints Sophie Chassat to Board of Directors Sophie Chassat has just joined the Board of Directors at Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy. Currently, Chassat is also Founder and President of her own consulting company, Intikka. Chassat specializes in corporate philosophy, holding a postgraduate degree in the topic from the École Normale Supérieure and has also taught on the subject.
Mark Briggs Departs Hudson Bay Company as EVP of Creative Hudson Bay Company’s EVP of Creative, Mark Briggs, is stepping down from the company. Briggs first joined HBC in 2014 as Chief Marketing Officer for the company’s Saks Fifth Avenue Division, being promoted to head of their Creative Center in 2015. Prior to HBC, Briggs spent over 22 years at Harrods in London, most recently serving as their Store Image Director.
Aspinal of London Names Giles Deacon as Design Director Giles Deacon has been tapped to join Aspinal of London as their new Design Director. This move follows a successful collaboration between the designer and the brand, GilesxAspinal, which was focused on capsule accessories. Although Deacon is taking on this new position with Aspinal he will continue to act as Creative Director of his own brand, Giles Deacon Couture.
Matthew Dunn Hired at Asos as CFO Asos has named Matthew Dunn as their new Chief Financial Officer, effective in April of 2019. Until this date, Dunn will continue to act as CFO of Britvic. Prior to joining Britvic in 2015, Dunn held many executive financial roles at companies like South African Breweries, SAB Miller, and EMI Music.
Issey Miyake Promotes Takahiko Ise to President Japanese fashion house Issey Miyake has appointed Takahiko Ise as the brand’s next President. Previously, Ise headed the brand’s Production Department. Ise is succeeding Masakatsu Nagatani, who will remain with the company as an advisor.
Timberland Appoints Christopher Raeburn as Global Creative Director Timberland has found their new Global Creative Director in Christopher Raeburn. He will hold this role in addition to heading his own namesake label, which he began in 2010. This is not Raeburn’s first time holding multiple design positions at once, having also held the role of Artistic Director at Victorinox Swiss Army from 2013-2016. His first collection for Timberland will be for Fall 2020.
Keanan Duffty, designer and author of ‘Rebel Rebel-Anti Style’ is now Program Director of the Masters in Professional Studies-Fashion Management and Associate Professor of Fashion at Parsons School of Design.
Michelle Copelman, previously Design Director at Solid & Striped, is now Design Director of Sleep and Lounge at Victoria’s Secret.
Andrea Ng, previously PR Director at Black Frame, is now Sr. Manager for Men’s & Women’s Global PR at Coach.
Ali Valenti, previously Director of Brand Marketing & Communicationsat Alice & Olivia is now Sr. Director of PR, Partnerships and Events at Rebecca Minkoff.
Chrissy Tantillo Shuman, Corporate Communications Manager at Louis Vuitton, has left the firm after seven years.
Tommy Fazio, Fashion Director at UBM Fashionhas left the firm.
Coach To Show Pre-Fall 2019 In Shanghai Coach announces that the brand will debut its Pre Fall 2019 collection with its first-ever runway show in China on December 8th. The show, Coach Lights Up Shanghai, and subsequent after party will be staged on Shanghai’s popular waterfront The Bund.
Givenchy To Show Men’s Fall 2019 Collection During Men’s Paris Fashion Week
Givenchy Creative Director Clare Waight Keller will return the house to the men’s show schedule for this upcoming January. Previously, Keller had canceled the men’s collection showing upon her arrival at Givenchy, instead showing men’s alongside women’s for Spring 2019.
