Victoria Beckham Names Paolo Riva as CEO
Effective September 1st, Paolo Riva will be the new Chief Executive Officer of Victoria Beckham. Riva joins from Diane Von Furstenberg where he was CEO for 3 years. Prior to that, Riva was VP of Apparel and Visual Merchandising at Tory Burch LLC. Before that he acted as Worldwide Product Marketing and Merchandising Director of Valentino, and has also served as Head of Ladies’ Shoes at Salvatore Ferragamo. In his new role at Victoria Beckham, Riva will be reporting to the Board of Directors
J. Crew Taps Johanna Uurasjarvi as Chief Design Officer
Johanna Uurasjarvi has been named Chief Design Officer at J. Crew, where she will be responsible for directing the design of the brand. Uurasjarvi joins from West Elm where she was Creative Director. Prior to that, she was Executive Creative Director of Product Design at Anthropologie, where she worked multiple design-oriented positions over 15 years.
Acne Appoints Edouard Schneider as Global Communications Director, Head of Paris Division
Swedish fashion label Acne Studios has appointed Edouard Schneider to Global Communications Director as well as Head of their Paris Division. Most recently, Schneider was Head of Press and Public Relations at Louis Vuitton. Prior to that, he held communications leadership positions at Maison Martin Margiela, Givenchy, and Swarovski. In his new role at Acne, he will be reporting director to Chief Executive Officer Mattias Magnusson, and Director of Marketing and Image, Lotta Nilsson.
Benji B Named Louis Vuitton’s Musical Director
Virgil Abloh has recently appointed Benji B to the newly created role of Musical Director. Previously, Benji B was Musical Director at Céline. He has also worked as a Radio DJ, and has produced music for Kanye West’s “Life of Pablo” album.
Federico Curradi Tapped by Rochas as Creative Director, Men’s Ready-to-Wear
Rochas has tapped Federico Curradi as Creative Director of Men’s Ready-to-Wear. Previously, Curradi was Creative Director of his namesake label, and prior to that he was Creative Director of Iceberg. Curradi will show his first collection for Rochas during the fall 2019 season.
Joshua Kalipeni, previously with the PR team at H&M, is now in the marketing team at the firm.
David Carey Departs Hearst Magazines as President and Group Head
President of Hearst Media’s Magazine Division, David Carey, is stepping down from the position after 8 years at the media conglomerate. He departs the company due to his latest venture, a fellowship at Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative. Before joining Hearst Magazines in 2010, Carey was Group President at Condé Nast, and prior to that he was VP and Publisher of The New Yorker. Although Carey is leaving Hearst Magazines, he is set to stay on as Chairman of the division through 2019 and aid the company in finding his replacement.
YouTube Taps Derek Blasberg as Head of Fashion and Beauty Partnerships Division
YouTube is appointed Derek Blasberg to lead their newly created division of Beauty and Fashion Partnerships. Blasberg joins from CNN where he was Host of CNN Style. Prior to that, he was a colomnist at Style.com and Harper’s Bazaar. Blasberg will retain his role of Contributing Writer at Vanity Fair where he has held the title of Our Man on the Street since 2015. In his new position at YouTube, Blasberg will be charged with building relationships with high-profile figures in the fashion and beauty industry.

Sam Escobar, previously Deputy Digital Editor at Allure, is now Digital Deputy Director at the firm.
