Paul Andrew Named Salvatore Ferragamo’s Women’s Creative Director
Paul Andrew has been promoted at Salvatore Ferragamo to be their new Women’s Creative Director. Andrew, who joined the Italian fashion label in fall of 2016 as their Women’s Footwear Director, also has experience designing for Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and Narciso Rodriguez. Along with his titles at Salvatore Ferragamo, Andrews is also the CEO of his namesake label, which started in 2012. In 2015, Andrews won the CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund Competition.
Lisa Gersh Named Alexander Wang CEO
Lisa Gersh will be succeeding Alexander Wang as the CEO of his namesake label. Gersh has experience as CEO from her time at Martha Stewart Omnimedia and Goop.com. Prior to that, Gersh was President of Strategic Initiatives at NBC Universal where she created the Education Nation initiative. Gersh was also Co-Founder, President, and COO of Oxygen media, and was responsible for the $95 million sale of Oxygen to NBC Universal. Alexander Wang is to remain the brand’s Creative Director and the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Stephanie Horton Joins Alexander Wang as Chief Strategy Officer
Alexander Wang Inc. is bringing on Stephanie Horton as Chief Strategy Officer. Horton joins from Farfetch where she was Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to that, she was Head of Global Communications at ShopBop, and before that she was Creative Services Director at Vogue magazine.
The North Face Names Tim Hamilton as Head of Global Creative
Tim Hamilton has been appointed to Head of Global Creative for The North Face, where he will lead all creative direction for the outerwear brand. Hamilton brings 20 years of experience in design with him, having been nominated for a CFDA fashion awards three times. In 2009 he won Menswear Designer of the Year for his own minimalist sportswear namesake label.
Stitch Fix Promotes Mike Smith to COO
Mike Smith, previously Stitch Fix’s General Director of Men’s, is now the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Before Smith joined the personal shopping service site in 2012, but before that he was COO of Walmart.com where he started their Site to Store offering.
The Body Shop Taps David Boynton as CEO
Effective December 4th, David Boynton will serve as Chief Executive Officer for The Body Shop. Boynton joins from menswear brand Charles Tyrwhitt where he was CEO. Prior to that Boynton worked at L’Occitane for a decade, most recently serving nearly 5 years at CEO.
Steve Davis, previously CEO of Rue La La, is now President of Fanatics.
Brett Goldstein, previously Director at HL Group, is now PR Manager at Bergdorf Goodman.
Vice Media Taps Tammy Smulders as President of Fashion Business
Tammy Smulders is joining Vice Media as their President of Fashion Business, which will encompass overseeing the company’s fashion portfolio including Garage and i-D. Previously, Smulders was the Global Managing Director at Havas LuxHub, an advertising agency where she oversaw relations for Net-a-Porter and LVMH.
Julie Alvin Joins Time Inc. as Senior Digital Director
Time Inc. has hired Julie Alvin to be their new Senior Digital Director. Alvin joins from Bustle where she was Executive Director and Director of Brand Initiatives. In her new position at Time Inc., Alvin will be in charge of digital content for InStyle, Southern Living, and Real Simple.
