Calvin Klein features Solange Knowles in their Spring 2018 Denim focused Ad Campaign
BY STEPHANIE PETTWAY
With the past #MYCALVINS campaigns pushing the boundaries with sex appeal and provocativeness, Calvin Klein is now taking a different approach with this reboot of the campaign, focusing on family and unity.
Titled “Our Music. #MYCALVINS” as part of the “Our Family” Series, shot by Willy Vanderperre, the stills capture Solange Knowles and her “chosen” family of musicians. This family consists of Kelela, Dev Hynes, Caroline Polachek, and Adam Bainbridge.
Illustrating the unity and the concept of family, the campaign displays the bond between strong individuals and allows them to connect with each and celebrate the things that tie them together.
The new #MYCALVINS will run from the end of the year to Spring 2018, and will be released in a series of campaigns. Each campaign will feature different talent from different generations, genres, and cultures. Their stories will be highlighted and revolve around the conversation of family and community.
Perhaps Calvin Klein feels they need to grow up along with their consumer. Leaving behind a world of just toeing the line for one of more mature understanding. We at The Impression look forward to seeing the new campaign roll out and how well received this new side of Calvin is.
