Camera Nazionale della Moda Establishes New Fund

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has Established a Fund to Support Young Designers

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) presents a new solidarity initiative under the “Italia we are with you” project: #TogetherForTomorrow. Realized by CNMI and the Camera Moda Fashion Trust, the project will raise funds to support the new generation of “Made in Italy” designers and small fashion businesses. The aim is to continue the support of these firms as they find themselves dealing with the problems caused by the spread of COVID-19.

During this emergency, the role of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has become clearer than ever: to understand the needs of all players in the industry and reply promptly and with concrete and effective initiatives. The future cannot disregard young people, for this reason CNMI is alongside the CNMI Fashion Trust and its project, which is completely dedicated to supporting them, and which is placed alongside other initiatives aimed at addressing the difficulties caused by the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic

— Carlo Capasa, CNMI Chairman

To the same end, Camera Moda Fashion Trust will be organizing over the next few days a series of webinars that will enable young designers to consult with experts on various topics.  Supporting the new generation of designers, emerging brands and small businesses is the purpose, and the operation is also part of a broader raft of initiatives that CNMI is participating in, as a reaction to the difficult international pandemic. Some weeks ago, CNMI submitted to the Italian government various requests and proposals in support of the “Made in Italy” industry.

In this moment of great adversity that will lead to radical change in the ways we live and work, it’s vitally important to act together. CNMI has always believed in and supported the new generations. Now more than ever we must do our utmost to safeguard “Made in Italy” so that the next generation, the one that we believed in and supported and which we risk losing in a few months, can carry forward.

— Sara Sozzani Maino, CNMI International Brand Ambassador, Deputy Editor in Chief of Vogue Italia, and Head of Vogue Talents

Umberta Gnutti Beretta and Warly Tomei, Co-founders and Co-chairs of the Camera Moda Fashion Trust, added “Never before has the work of the CNMI Fashion Trust been so relevant and the support for young designers so necessary. “Made in Italy” must be protected and supported, now more than ever.”
