The CFDA and NYC Partner on the 2017 Fashion Future Graduate Showcase that will Highlight the Work of New York City’s Brightest Fashion Talent
The CFDA and the New York City Economic Development Corporation has a special event lined up for New York City’s fashion graduates. The top 100 graduates of the Class of 2017 will have the opportunity to present their work at the Fashion Future Graduate Showcase from May 23 through 25 and put an exclamation point on their school careers.
Made in partnership with Suntchi and Accenture, the Fashion Future Graduate Showcase is a curated, Made in NY: Fashion physical and digital exhibition featuring work from the top graduates of FIT, Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Rhode Island School of Design and Academy of Art University. The CFDA and the NYCEDC partnered to launch the showcase to support graduates embarking on their journey and to provide exposure and education for the young talent.
In addition to having their work featured, the participants will connect with design opportunities in apparel, accessories, jewelry, textiles and sustainable fashion among others.
“The Fashion Future Graduate Showcase will bring together elite fashion design programs in the region to showcase their recent graduates work to a globally-recognized audience of industry experts, press, and buyers,” said Dean of Parsons School of Fashion Burak Cakmak. “By offering this unique opportunity for recent fashion design graduates to engage with industry experts, we hope the showcase will provide a more direct path toward highlighting the creative talent educated in American institutions and toward securing employment for the young designers of America.”
Applicants from the participating schools can apply for the 2017 Fashion Future Graduate Showcase via an online portal. Those selected will be featured and will receive a one year digital platform on the CFDA website.
