Wonder For All Holiday Campaign by Juergen Teller with Kate Moss

Coach recently debuted “Wonder For All”, a 2019 holiday campaign with a fun yet slightly frivolous short film written and directed by Bunny Kinney, and starring Kate Moss, Spike and Tonya Lee, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, winner of Season 8 of Ru Paul’s Drag Race Bob the Drag Queen, writer/actor/producer Ben Sinclair, actors Yara Shahidi, Miles Heizer and Camila Morrone, model Fernanda Ly, plus special appearances by Yara Shahidi’s family and the Newark Boys Choir. There is a visual inconsistency between the film and the still photographs by Juergen Teller, however both effectively capture the inclusive spirit of New York City.

Bunny Kinney has created a feel-good film that playfully introduces the house’s new Horse and Carriage collection. First introduced in the 1950s, the Horse and Carriage is a symbol of Coach’s leather craftsmanship and New York heritage. The new collection reimagines the iconic motif as a pattern for bags and ready-to-wear, as seen on Kate Moss and a new version of the Kat Saddle Bag.

Though the unstudied feeling of the film does not match Juergen Teller’s stilted photos, they establish a connection by featuring the same stars and props. From a marketing perspective, the film is smartly executed because it successfully positions Coach as an accessible option for those who want to invest in a name-brand accessory…but aren’t ready for the $700 price tags of bags offered by European fashion houses. The film’s version of Coach highlights their more moderate pricing and accessibility by utilizing fonts that look hand-drawn, and by projecting a campy, homey vibe with singing, dancing, take-out pizza, a little owl and even a carousel horse. Full of cheer and culminating with the appearance of Kate Moss on twirling tuffet, Coach invites you to join this band of spontaneous revelers for the kind of snowy good times that can only be had in the Big Apple.
