Warm, dark, and decadent, cocoa defined collections, taking center stage for many fall shows. This composite color is typically associated with being earthy, friendly, and outdoorsy. But this season’s collections revealed another side to the hue. Cocoa was elevated, refined, and sophisticated as models donned shades of chocolate, hickory, tan, mahogany, and caramel.
Head-to-toe hues of brown made waves down Hermès’ runway as models donned cocoa ensembles paired with touches of Burnt Siena. Tod’s used shades of Espresso to accentuate and compliment ocean blues, while Rokh debuted a monochromatic ensemble in chocolate; Raisavanessa opted to explore the variety of cocoa shades. Rich leather and suede were seen across a plethora of collections, notably Sportmax, Loro Piana, & Chloe.
In all, the sheer volume of collections that put cocoa front and center is astounding, and we look forward to seeing where designers take this hue next.
