Dior & Artsy | celebrate artist installations at Bergdorf Goodman
Dior and Artsy on Wednesday hosted a cocktail party at Bergdorf Goodman for The Artsy Vanguard, an initiative celebrating and supporting contemporary artists.
Online art database Artsy currently features over 800,000 images of art, architecture, and design by 80,000 artists and selects 50 featured artists for its annual Vanguard list. Of the 50 selected artists for 2018, Artsy chose artists Hayden Dunham, Lena Henke, and Hannah Levy to create site-specific installations to be displayed in Bergdorf’s windows with looks from the Dior Fall 2018 Ready-to-wear collection.
The ethereal installations will be on display through May 20.
The event to celebrate the unveiling was jam packed with attendees such as Linda Fargo, Michael Avedon, Charlotte Sarkozy, Hannah Bronfman, Isaac Hinden-Miller, and featured artists Dunham, Henke and Levy.
The second floor also featured select looks from the Dior Fall 2018 Ready-to-wear collection, accompanied by art pieces by six additional Artsy Vanguard artists TM Davy, Rochelle Feinstein, Allison Janae Hamilton, Tyler Mitchell, Cynthia Talmadge and Lina Iris Viktor. The varied art works, which will also be on display through May 20, possess a fantastical energy like the window displays, and span different mediums such as painting, sculpture and photography.
Dior has celebrated artists in recent years, launching Lady Dior handbag collaborations with American and British artists for its Dior Lady Art project, collaborating with artist Dan Witz for the Dior Homme FW17 collection, and even German artist Anselm Reyle in 2011.
