30 Avenue Montaigne, 75008 Paris, France was a magical address, simply because it was home to Dior’s flagship store. Well, that ship has sailed all the way down to the Champs-Elysées, the world’s most famous shopping avenue. 30 Avenue Montaigne hosted the Dior couture FW19 show just a couple of weeks ago, but is unfortunately closed for renovation until 2020. Until then, the new Dior boutique on Champs-Elysées will have to hold it down.
The 890 square foot boutique is a copy cat in the best way possible. In homage on the flagship store, the facade of the boutique is an identical twin to its fallen sister. By way of trompe-l’œil, the architecture of the flagship is mirrored onto a giant handmade drape that hangs from the top of the Champs-Elysées boutique. Some would call it a fake, but the interior of the boutique is as real and glamorous as can be. The Champs-Elysées boutique spans across three floors and features both men’s and women’s collections, beginning with the Autumn-Winter 2019-2020 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Congratulations, Dior. Keep up that facade.
