Dior Releases New Caro Bag With Handcraft Narrative
Dior Shares The Hands Behind The Craft To Showcase Their Latest Dior Caro Handbag Release
With a new year comes a new bag; Dior’s latest release is the ‘Dior Caro,’ a testament to Italian luxury quilting, as it requires 18,000 stitches to bring the emblematic cannage print to life. The cane chairs in the Dior atelier originally inspired Cannage print, and have grown to be iconic for the brand. The bag includes a modern twist in shades of black, gray, mint green, sky blue, and more.
The film, which demonstrates the craft elements, reminds the viewer of the artistry required in such a production and personalizes the experience. The viewer watches as pieces are cut from calf leather, and the quilting stage commences. A “Christian Dior” gold seal is affixed before the bag, which is mounted inside-out, is at last turned right-side out. Next, metal accessories adorned with the “CD” signature are bound from the clasp’s chain links.
From one link to another, the consumer experience is warmly hinged with the talent who brought them the bag, creating an informed client and building community.
