Dior’s Cruise 2019 show is set to take place on May 25 at the Grandes Écuries of the Domaine de Chantilly, located near Paris.
The city of Chantilly holds significant meaning to the luxury label as it housed the founding of the couturier’s first creations as well as those of his successors, Yves Saint Laurent and Marc Bohan. Over the years, various designers for the house have either fulfilled or awakened its name of honor, initially beginning with Christian Dior’s collection for Fall 1947, of which featured an evening dress baptized at Chantilly.
The historic Chantilly stables in which the show will be staged are a symbol of French prestige and art de vivre. Maintaining the title of the largest stables in Europe, the Chantilly stables were constructed in the 18th century for the seventh Prince de Condé, Louis-Henri de Bourbon.
Dior’s Cruise 2018 show took place in the Santa Monica Mountains, marking the first big destination event for the label’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The setting of Dior’s upcoming exhibit guarantees to be thematically focused on time travel and possible that of equestrian as well.
